Vågå Wave Camp 2002 - The Extreme Altitude Challenge

Easter 2002 I was in Vågå, Norway, as a participant in the "Vågå Wave Camp, The Extreme Altitude Challenge" and here my glider Fox 6 and I spent 28 enjoyable hours in the air above the Norwegian mountains. Together the glider and I achieved 5 Golden-hight-altitudegains and an (official) Diamondflight from from 600 m by means of ridgesoaring and thermals to the waves - up to about 6,2 kilometers hight. Because af the Ka6’s relatively low max. speed (200 km/h, 150 in 6000 m) I couldn’t go any higher, since the wind at this hight was blowing 120-140 km/t.

I hope you will enjoy the photos on the following pages, I at least had a great time in the air.

Many greetings to all - especially “the guys” at Svenor 2002
and thank you to all my friends in the north for all the fantastic adventures.
